Talon is a rodenticide bait that professional pest controllers use to manage rat and mice problems in Australia. The product is safe, sanitary, effective and easy to use.
Talon needed to increase exposure, boost revenues and build their reputation to command the level of confidence and trust inspired by Superbrands such as Mortein among home owners. Moreover, they were looking for a new and effective way to introduce their newest product to the market.
Promoting rat poison in a clever and pleasant way is hard enough, but try doing it with no online presence, no database to market to, no means by which to drive traffic to stores, and no dexterous way to capture data. In response, Tick Yes developed a strategy that involved an online promotion/competition with a viral component and a microsite.
The online promotion was an enormous success that allowed Talon to grow a database from zero to over 120,000 contacts. This database is scheduled to be used in phase II of the Make Rats History campaign which will include direct mail and personalised one-to-one communications
